Steve Gross
Steve is the counselor for all the boys this year. He has been at Herrick since 1993. Before counseling at Herrick, Steve was a School Counselor at Simmons Middle School in Aurora, Illinois. In addition to counseling, he is the boys cross country coach, Herrick's I.S.A.T. testing coordinator, and co-sponsor of the Peer Leader program. Steve also co-founded a faculty fund called Bloom's Angels. This fund supports Herrick's needy students and families.
Julie Quinlan
Julie is the counselor for all the girls this year. She has been at Herrick for 15 years. Before counseling, she was an LA/Reading teacher at Herrick. She also creates the yearbook.
Her favorite part of her job is talking individually with her students and helping them navigate their way through the awesome middle school experience!

Julie Ekman
Julie Ekman is the social worker for students in 7th and 8th grade. She has been doing social work for 16 years. She began her career as a family therapist and has worked the past 13 years as a school social worker with ages ranging from preschool to middle school. She has a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education and Masters in both Social Work and School Leadership. She is the sponsor for Board Game Club, Snowflake, and Recycling Club. She also runs an animal assisted canine therapy group at Herrick for a select number of students.
She loves getting to know students, helping them set goals, and watching them grow.
